Tons of great insight on the full AMC Social TV ecosystem from Natan on the link from above, below is my personal experience using the AMC Story Sync for the premiere last night.

The stats for Story Sync (available on web, tablet or mobile device) were 22 pieces of synced content consisting of graphics, polls, photos and a single video. (No content was pushed during any commercial break) There were 2488 users in the “Discussion” area at the end of the show. I used a tablet and my experience was a bit “buggy” with no real value added for participation. (if you can’t see the results of the poll question before the end of the show, what’s the point?) The best “synced moments” for me came in the order of a graphic or picture of back story or connection to past episodes. The first photo on the screen was a reminder that Walt had the number 50 (for his birthday) spelled out in bacon on his plate in the pilot episode! Cool! I didn’t remember that. They also pushed a picture of Gil’s “super lab” notebook sketch and some specs on electromagnets. Also, pretty cool and a reason to use! But couldn’t this be done on twitter or tumblr or… well, anyway… Do user’s want a separate Social TV app for every Network and / or TV show to get this augmented experience? I’m betting no. It needs to be consolidated in one place.
